阿本是對練琴很有熱忱的學生,但一開始他也和大家一樣,總以為彈奏鋼琴只要熟練就好,鋼琴只要音符不彈錯,整首歌曲就是彈對了,對於觸鍵的控制並沒有想法,更別說是音色的變化。直到和我學習的這些年中,漸漸能理解古典音樂所講究的不同樂派風格,甚至後來所學的爵士樂曲,不同的音樂面向都有很深的技術等著我們一起挖掘。
阿本前幾年因為疫情所以留在台灣,期間我們參加過多次的鋼琴比賽,都得到很不錯的成績。藉由參加比賽來磨練自身的音樂詮釋能力是很不錯的方法,因為若不是要參賽,一輩子恐怕也都不會這麼認真地專研一首樂曲。
Espen:
「 I have had classes from Miss Bonnie for over 3 years and it has been a great improvement for my piano skills. When I first started, my way of playing got me into a lot of different problems when going into the harder parts of compositions. My speed wouldn’t increase and I couldn’t make my hands move the way I imagined them to be like. The problem was that my fingers weren’t sturdy enough and I didn’t know how to send in the energy so it was hard to get them to move as quickly as possible. After one class with Miss Bonnie, she noticed my problem and we immediately started to change the way I played. After that I started going through different competitions and bringing back lots of rewards. This took a lot of effort and encouragement from my teacher and my parents. From the classes I had, I learned how to distinguish how each music genre is played. Some require more changes in volume while others just need a certain tone. The way of key-pressing is also very vital due to the different sound it creates. The fun part of the class is when we learn Jazz. It is a freestyle thing and you can practically manipulate the notes however you want, as long as you follow the melody. Music is now a big part of who I am. So I will keep on walking this path and overcome each and every obstacle. 」
我跟阿本是在疫情中結緣的,我們歷經了線上課、實體課,這一年因為相隔兩地,都是採取線上上課,只有暑假學生回來台灣時上實體課。幫 Espen上課最大的成就感來自於臨場的課程設計,因為 Espen能夠清楚表示出他練習的問題,這是非常好的現象,因為學生在課堂中的回饋常常能夠激發出老師的教學能力,一樣的概念傳達需要使用不同方式,因材施教,所以說教學相長確實很有道理。
隨著孩子年齡增長、課業繁忙,很多家長會很糾結孩子上了國中、高中要不要繼續學琴,其實應該請家長思考一下,當初讓孩子學琴的初衷是什麼?我想絕大部分的家長一定不是要栽培孩子當音樂家,而是要訓練孩子的專注力、持續力、大腦連結、五感協調、感覺統合、自信度、展現自己、舒壓、時間管理⋯等等之類的,但矛盾的是一旦跟課業擺在一起,就經常忘了學琴的初衷了,忘記學音樂背後的潛藏的價值,最終捨棄。
人格的養成仰賴各方面的連結與經驗,像阿本已經是國三的年紀了,還持續學習著鋼琴,與 阿本媽媽的交談中也明白母子都能感受到因為學習音樂而帶來的附加價值。
無獨有偶,上週也有一位高二的學生跟我分享,他覺得他背書快、讀書容易抓到訣竅跟持續學琴練琴、背譜的訓練有很大的關聯。
以上這些都是學生們自身的體悟,包含我自己到現在,也都很感謝我的父母能夠讓我接觸音樂,因為音樂帶來的美好絕對不是課本上的分數以及金錢的多寡能夠取代的,而這些價值,都是我成人後才明白的。
